FTDP Fires Training and Doctrine Portal

Background:
The Army transforms and adjusts as groups hostile to the United States emerge and change. As those threats emerge, the Army needs individual and organizational innovation and flexibility in response. Soldiers and leaders need robust thinking to reinforce mission success.

FKN,FCoE Response:
Using the new Fires Knowledge Network (FKN), Training and Doctrine (DOTD) page, the Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE) meets that challenge. The DOTD’s FKN web page better balances training and education for the 21st Century. While training remains important, the Training and Doctrine (DOTD) shifts some of the emphasis toward education. It better connects the FCoE to academia and postures the FCoE to integrate lessons learned in combat with the science of learning. It helps the FCoE better support its' primary stakeholders, the air defense artillery branch, the field artillery branch, and the joint fires community. Capitalizing on the benefits of technology, the Training and Doctrine (DOTD) supports a blended learning model over a Soldier's career. Given its joint nature, the FKN pools the benefits of diverse student and faculty populations. FKN, Training and Doctrine (DOTD) meets the needs of training, education and leader development way into the 21st century.

Role
(1) Provide the highest quality training, education, and leader development opportunities.
(2) Provide Army, joint, interagency, and coalition partners' experts and leaders in lethal and non-lethal fires.
(3) Provide training and education in support of ARFORGEN in order enable warfighter readiness in essential fires capabilities.
(4) Develop and sustain joint integrated training that provides live, virtual, constructive, and gaming capabilities enabling "blended learning" across institutional, self-development and operational domains.
